Almost Done!

We're down to our last 20 hours for the campaign! This has been exhilarating and I can't believe we've all but knocked out every (realistic) stretch goal. The book now has an epilogue, a bonus short story, a pin up gallery, a cloth ribbon bookmark, a cloth spine, an expanded back-matter section, and is so close to reaching those gilded pages. That brings the book closer to 260ish pages compared to the initial 232 pages, it's all because of you! Seriously, thank you from every corner of my heart for making this book happen, and with such a flood of support.
Even mocking it up makes it feel so much more real!
Thought the back cover might be worthy of a little more viewing time as well
I'll end this one with a few other campaigns to check out if you haven't already, two who just so happen to be Boston neighbors and one that launched right around the same time as Gardener.
Bulgilhan Press Presents debuts their first published books by Jesse Lonergan and Anke Gladnick. I'm a sucker for risograph books and they have an exceptional one.
Matt King's Tales to Enlighten, a beautiful 300 page psychedelic graphic novel that looks exactly like you'd imagine a psychedelic cult book should.
And Alex Segura, Elizabeth Little and David Hahn's, The Dusk, a new original superhero hardcover graphic novel - their campaign ends in 22 hours!

We're just shy of only seven days left in the campaign and we knocked one of the bonus stretch goals out already, meaning an expanded back matter section! I'm excited that I won't have to be cutting any of the behind the scenes and preliminary drawings that led to this story. Thank you all so much for making this all possible. As an additional way to say thanks, I thought I'd share the first chapter how it was when I initially finished it three years ago. The final chapter for the book itself has a few color edits, and will of course feature Bernardo's much, much better lettering compared to my initial shaky-handed attempt, but I thought it might be fun to share. As we get towards the end, we're still closing in on our last upgrade stretch goal - gilded pages! Sharing this Kickstarter with others is a huge way to help us get there.

Bonus Stretch Goals

I can't believe we hit all of the serious stretch goals I'd initially planned in the first half of the campaign! Not that the plant part of it isn't serious - I promise I'll take good care of a plant if we get there.
Since we hit them so quickly, I wanted to figure out a few other options to make this book even nicer for everyone. So, we came up with two more goals: an expanded backmatter section which would include early character concepts and world building pieces of Gardener, and the addition of gilded pages to the book.
People have also been asking about the option to have shirts available as Add Ons. I have been reluctant to add these because the Add Ons section of Kickstarter is still fairly new and it's more difficult to keep track of shirt sizing and quantities, so not having them as Add Ons helps keep things running much more smoothly. To make up for it,I've added a new tier that has the book, a t-shirt, and a longsleeve! The Goo Man pin and print are still available as Add Ons so everything can be bundled together that way.
And last but not least, here are a few more comics right here on Kickstarter worth checking out:
Jarred Luján's The Twin Blades, blending sci-fi and Aztec mythology into a story about family, believing in yourself, and magical swords.
Stephan Velez's The Veil Walker, a dark fantasy story chronicling the downfall of a sorcerer.

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for keeping the momentum going on Gardener. I can't believe we've already unlocked 4 Stretch Goals in just over a week! I'd been hoping to get all of these upgrades in the book, but to see these stretchgoals get unlocked so quickly is truly mind blowing.

What a Wild Start

I can't believe it - we've unlocked 2 stretch goals in the first three days and Kickstarter was gracious enough to list Gardener as a "Project We Love"! Thank you all so much for the tremendous support.
We're already well on our way towards unlocking our next stretch goal: a Pin Up Gallery featuring work from Liana Kangas, Marie Enger, Artyom Trakhanov, Drew Shields, and more! This might be the most exciting stretch goal for me because not only are these some of my favorite artists, but also as a friend, fan or both, it's really fun to see their takes on Gardener's characters.

Quindrie Press - A new publisher from Scotland debuting their first four publications, all of which are fantastic, and they're in their last few days of funding!
